G.I.Joe Fans Are Speaking Out About Aubrey Sitterson Tweet!
Perhaps you do or do not know who Aubrey Sitterson is. He is the current writer for IDW’s G.I.JOE series. He wrote for the WWE and also wrote IDW’s hit crossover involving Street Fighter. A title I rather enjoyed. He has been writing and pushing the envelope and also some GIJOE Facebook group’s buttons. It is no accident that some themes have crept into the GIJOE title that are not usually present.
Aubrey has been rubbing the people in the GIJOE Facebook group discussions the wrong way for a while now but things really escalated on the anniversary of 9/11.
Aubrey tweeted out this statement.
This prompted a backlash from several GIJOE sites and fans tweeting that they would not buy the GIJOE title written by Sitterson and some went as far as to say they would boycott IDW altogetheror cease promotion of any Hasbro or IDW title until the situation is resolved.
At first this was contained to GIJOE centric sites, but now it has started to gain momentum. IDW has responded on their Facebook account and larger sites like BleedingCool have picked up the story.

IDW in no way condones or supports these personal opinions whatsoever, and recognizes the pain they may cause our readers.
Discussions regarding next steps are underway. We appreciate the patience and understanding of our many fans while these concerns are being addressed.
Thank you.
People are clearly upset by Sitterson’s comments and lack of tact in addressing fan’s comments.
General’s Joes had an eloquoent article about the situation and it tries to remain unbiased in the reporting of this situation.

IDW is clearly in damage control mode at present.
Videos are popping up on youtube as this has really hit a nerve with GIJOE fans.
